Practice
Work
We aim to create healthy, inclusive places which support social, cultural and economic well-being.
We work at both large scale in the development of masterplans for new neighbourhoods and at local level in the design of streets, public parks and civic spaces.
Our approach is focussed on the objectives of our clients and the individual needs of those who will experience the environments we help create.
We are rigorous in identifying opportunities to limit impacts on the environment, maximise bio-diversity and create landscapes which have resilience to climate change.
Our design ethos is place-specific, responding to context and establishing a strong sense of local identity.
We believe in the power of engagement to help enable communities to effectively shape their environment and bring our skills and empathy to the consultation and co-design process.
Learning and Skills
Continuous learning is at the heart of our practice ethos to ensure our team can acquire the knowledge and skills to provide an exemplary service to our clients and the wider community.
Our learning and mentoring programme focusses on design quality, innovation in construction technology, social value and effective project management.
People
The practice is owned by its employees through a trust. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment for our team where everyone’s contribution is recognised and valued.
Collaboration is central to our ethos, both within the studio, where we share knowledge and support learning and with our clients and colleagues, where we are pro-active in offering timely advice and identifying opportunities to add value.
Community
We recognise our responsibilities to the wider community, concentrating on areas where we hope to make positive changes to the lives of others, recognising inequalities, embracing diversity and tackling climate change.
We have a committed programme of activities aligned with the Community Development and Sustainability strategies of the National TOMS Framework, providing training opportunities, mentoring and supporting horticultural initiatives.
